We have lived on Pender for the last 7 years. Our house is a located in a
genuinely peaceful location. Because we have the ocean 100 feet in front
of us, a large 40 acre parcel of land behind us, and a dead end road, our
location is very quiet, and is also protected from the wind. We hear the
wind, but we don’t feel it. In the summer, we enjoy the calm, warm days,
and in the winter, we listen to the ocean coming into shore. We are so
close to the water, we are in some ways the equivalent of other high
oceanbank homes. There is a nice ocean view from the living room, and
when you walk out the front steps. Our new neighbors have commented on
    how quiet the area is.

It seems that everyone who walks into our house stops and goes, wow.
Every inch of space in the house is utilized, from the large living room
with vaulted ceiling, to the funky kitchen/eating area. We have made this
house very west coast, with cedar ceilings, a McLeary cook woodstove, and
many other touches which add up to a quality west coast experience. We
have insulated the house completely, and its warm and cozy in the winter,
    and cool in the summer.

We’ve planted 7 apple trees, which were very bountiful this year. We also
have two large producing plum trees, and large blackberry bushes. Our
property is completely deer fenced, and has a large pond at the back, next
to a 450 sq foot studio. The studio needs some work, but it’s dry and the
wood is older growth. Behind the deer fencing, the property extends to
    include mature cedar trees.

We’re steps to Medicine Beach, which has truly spectacular views to the
South. The beach provides boat anchorage for some neighbors during the
summer, and is a 3 minute walk from the house.

After 7 years, we know we live in a special spot, away from ferry traffic
noise, and car traffic. The ocean is right there, and the only thing we
haven’t done yet is fence in the front yard for added privacy. This is
the West Coast experience you’re looking for if this is your price range.
